Pssss….ttt……. A secret!!

My room is my haven. There hidden beneath all my clothes and books is my most cherished treasure. On the first sight they seem like 3 small cardboard boxes coloured black, red and white respectively. On close observation you will see all of them are labeled; the black one as “Trash can”, the red one “FYA can” and the white one “FYI can”. If you open any of these boxes you will find small notes inside them.

The reason why I call them my most cherished treasure is because they help me lead a stressful life. Wondering how??

This is the secret – The trash can consists of things which are of no importance. The FYA can has things which need to be acted upon.  And the FYI can has things which can’t be helped on. They are just for my knowledge, know about it and leave it. Whenever I face any problem or I am in dilemma, I categorize it as any one of the above and thereafter its cakewalk. Incase it’s into Trash can its useless, FYA then I need to do something about and incase FYI then just acknowledge its existence and then forget about it.

So, typically a gossip would land up into Trash can, joining a new course would be into FYA and some professional hassle would be in FYI. I write them down on small chits and drop them into these boxes. That’s it!! I can’t describe the immense sense of relief that comes over after that.

My internal fight is there only till the time I am able to categorize it into these cans. Once I am done I am at peace. I don’t worry about things which are useless or ponder for solutions which are just FYI.
This eases things for me very much. Trust me this works…just try it once…..

    loved it a lot...

    and i was thinking about it...but the moment i think about two of my most problematic problems...i feel it can kept in all the again i am confused... as i feel there's something which can be trashed...something which i can label in the to do list and then i feel there's something in it where i can't do anything... :(

    1. Don't worry, put it in all three then!! :)

      But then follow what all three say... I mean forget about it for a while, accept it after sometime and then think about the solution. It will surely help.... trust me
